UX/UI Intern Experience
Dulare & Q-chang Projects
Context
This training program was a part of my college life, While I received the internship, I was exposed to a real working environment. The work system is different from what I have experienced at the university. During my training, I had the opportunity to work with a large organization such as SCG in the digital office, in which I was a part of the digital design department. My main job worked in the UX and UI team, but more than that, I learnt how to work with different people and departments, how to communicate for collaboration with people in the organization and how to succeed team achievement. Thus, the internship program was preparing myself be ready to be a potential employee i in the future.
The specific information on training
I attended an internship in the digital office and digital design department. A significant role for staff members in this department is to assist SCG's projects in the design area. Most of the work is divided into two main areas: the UX and the UI, starting from research to start a project and then to designing services and platforms that meet the needs of users and the company's direction.
Work with the digital design department, we must adhere to the principles and rules of the UX Designer and design principles to work out the way it should be, for example of the principle; 7 factors of UX or UX activities in the product and service design cycle. The most impression I have is; no matter what problems you encounter, you would have to tell the department head, Ms. Chadarat Singharuksa, who would always be there to help the team members, whether they were advising or suggesting solutions to problems.
I had an opportunity to participate in 2 projects, including Dulare project and a Q-Chang project.
Dulare Project
User research
Dulare was the first project that I attended. This project was about helping the patient and nurse in the nursing home to have more alternative ways of working. For my duty, I interviewed personnel who work in the nursing home, collected the requirement and feedback, and analyzed acquired information to use them to develop the existing work process to meet the needs of the working personnel in the care center.
Q-CHANG Project
Usability testing/ Interface Design
Another project that I participated in named the Q-Chang project, I had the opportunity to work from an researcher to be a designer to make a platform design. I interviewed the user for the usability test, analyzed all information I collected, and then made a design suggestion and finally participated in an interface design for Q-chang application.
Learning
Working requires collaboration within the same field and across disciplines,
as it leads to better solutions and mutual success.
