Project Detail

This project was created to be a technology showcase at Techsauce Global Summit 2022. KBTG developed a topic area in smart shopping experience innovation from work collaboration between the design, technology development, and coding teams. Starting from technology team sent a brief of innovations they want to showcase for shopping, including a virtual store for the wearable shopping experience and intelligent checkout through AI that will help detect products and make payments more manageable. In this regard, the primary function of the design team was to design the flow of the journey and to create a wireframe for the event.

*This event was for showcasing the organization's technology only. The project has not yet passed validation through user-research. *

Smart Retail

Information architecture/ Wireframing
Because this project has a partner who is an eyeglass shop, the design of the virtual store shopping experience is therefore referred to as an optical store. Since it is a project not based on user research, the design journey assumed the most significant business possibility by brainstorming among team members. The generated flow started with entry to the store, walking, shopping, trying on, and finishing with buying products. After knowing the main activities, the next step was to design each task detail that the customer would have to go through on each page. After finishing the conceptual design,  the conceptual design discussion with the technology team was set up to for directing the next process.   Next, it was time to draw a wireframe of each interface—referring to the designed tasks outlined during the wireframe drawing process and laying out what a page must contain. We also created the interaction that takes place during the visit.

After completing the interface design part, the next step was to send the designed wireframe to the UI team (user interface) to manage aesthetics, whether it's in terms of colors, fonts, elements, or even the orderliness of the screen. After completing the screen design, the work was transferring the coding team for the next process.  Before launching the program to the public, we kept having a team (includes all stakeholders) to check whether the program had any flaws or improvement.

This work focuses on Show In the technology case of AI product detection, and the workflow is the same as the smart retail process. However, there is one different thing in the design process, namely information design, because the innovative checkout project only focuses on showing the ease of the AI intelligent payment journey.
What had I gained from this project?
